EG (magazine)

EG is a magazine that publishes endgame studies and discusses various aspects of the endgame in chess. The letters "EG" stand for "End Game."

John Roycroft, an endgame composer and enthusiast, founded the magazine in 1965 and was its publisher for the first 102 issues, until 1991. Since then, the Dutch company Alexander Rueb Vereniging voor Schaakeindspelstudie (ARVES) has published the magazine, but Roycroft stayed as editor-in-chief for a while. The current Editor-in-Chief is Harold van der Heijden.

While many chess magazines include sections for endgame studies, EG is unique for its exclusive focus on the study.
